Great selection, knowledgeable staff. I recently moved to West Ashley and this is now the only place I buy my cigars. Huge walk in humidor. Really no reason to go anywhere else for fresh cigars at competitive prices. They also have an outside , covered seating area should you elect to fire up your new purchase. I stopped by West Ash Cigars this week after talking to Steve on the phone. When I asked if he smoked a pipe, he said yes -- and told me to come by while he was there since he knows the most about pipes. I'm glad I did. Steve went above and beyond. He took the time to sit down with me and walk through different types of pipe tobacco, blends, leafs, and cuts. Then we got into pipes themselves -- I brought one of mine, and he helped me discover it's an English pipe from the mid-70s made by Comoy, called the Everyday Man Pipe (Canadian shape, model 299). Turns out I've been sitting on a little treasure! I ended up picking up a few different tobaccos, and I'll definitely be back. The shop has a great selection, and the vibe is just as good -- while I was there, they greeted everyone who walked through the door by name. I also met Daryl, another great guy who clearly loves what he does. Fantastic local business, knowledgeable and friendly staff, and easily the best spot in the Charleston area for pipes and pipe tobacco. Support local -- you won't regret it.
